THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGAN MANY YEARS AGO .MY PARENTS CAME FROM AROUND CULDAFF AND DOON AND DUNROSS,AND MYSELF AND MY SISTER VERONICA SPENT ALL OUR CHILDHOOD YEARS WITH OUR COUSINS ,AUNTS AND UNCLES EVERY SUMMER HOLIDAY.THOSE ARE DAYS WE NEVER FORGET AND ARE OUR HAPPIEST MEMORIES,PLAYING ON THE HILL ABOVE DOON [DOONMORE].BELOW ARE SOME OF THE PICS THAT BRING BACK FOND MEMORIES OF THOSE DAYS . My Father was born and lived on Inistrahull Island , off Malin Head , but at the age of 6 he was orphaned , when all the menfolk of the Island were drowned at sea when the fishing boat went down in a storm. All the women and children were then taken from the Island and settled around Malin/Carndonagh/Culdaff areas.Hence my fathers family nickname of Dan the Widow.Inistrahull Island is now deserted, but visitors do cross over in good weather.Below are some pics from Inistrahull.
